In the picture above, James (Jim) M. Anderson (left) is shown on July 23, 2011 being handed the gavel and a copy of Roberts Rules of Order, recognizing him as being President for the next 2 years of the Surveying and Mapping Society of Georgia (SAMSOG) by the outgoing President (right). Anderson is the President of James M. Anderson and Associates, Inc, a Statesboro, GA based Surveying Company. The company was founded in 1979 and has operated in Statesboro for 32 years. The Surveying and Mapping Society of Georgia is the professional organization that represents the Licensed Surveyors of Georgia through the Georgia State Legislature, the State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, other professional groups such as the American Land Title Association, the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying, and through academic input and scholarships at various Colleges and Universities. SAMSOG has some 500 members across the State. Anderson has served on the Board of Directors of SAMSOG for several terms, State Trigstar Committee Chairman for many years, Vice President, and was named “Surveyor of the Year” in 2007.
